PALO ALTO, Calif. (Reuters) – The Internet media company Yahoo! Inc.(NasdaqNM:YHOO – news) said Wednesday it would make a news announcement at 2 p.m. local time (5 p.m. EST) and hold a conference call 15 minutes later to discuss the news.
The company declined to comment on the nature of the news.
Yahoo’s stock was halted earlier on Wednesday, leading to speculation it was about to make an earnings warning, announce a major acquisition or partnership, of unveil a management shake-up.
