Wildfire Wins World Communication Award

Wildfire’s Voice-Activated Personal Assistant Judged ‘Most Innovative Service’

MONACO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 16, 2000–Wildfire Communications, Inc., a pioneer in voice-activated, personal assistant technology, was honored as the “Most Innovative Service” at the 2000 World Communication Awards (WCA). The WCA recognize and reward excellence in the global communications industry that includes carriers and the companies that work with them. The winners of the prestigious awards were officially announced at a gala event in Monaco that kicked off the CommsLive.Europe show this week.

“Wildfire is extremely proud to receive this award for innovation, especially in such a global venue,” said Mark Morrison, CEO of Wildfire. “The value of a personal assistant like Wildfire continues to grow in the marketplace. This award is just one example of how people are responding to a product that’s helpful, human and interactive. It’s not just what Wildfire does, but how she does it, how she builds a relationship with you, learns from you and for you.”

Wildfire was submitted as a service offering from Orange, a U.K.-based mobile operator, who launched the offering in July of last year. Wildfire, which was short-listed among three other companies, took home the award because its product demonstrated a new innovation in thinking, design and development, and was successfully received by the market over the past twelve months. The World Communication Awards were launched in October 1999, during Telecom `99, and were designed as a unique and prestigious way of recognizing excellence in the high-profile communications industry. This year’s panel of judges was selected from a variety of companies and industry bodies for their reputation as key opinion-leaders within the communications industry. More information on the awards is available at the World Telecom Web site www.totaltele.com/wca/.
