(sorry I did not see your reply before mine above) As a fan I only care about the Canucks making the playoffs this season. If they were to get lucky – anyone can win – and bring the cup to Vancouver just ONCE!!! I would be quite content with hockey in Vancouver and satisfied with returning to years of hard work to make the playoffs and get past round one.
Win us A Cup boys!! (assuming any canucks read this blog… and if they do… it was IAN BELL that called them the “Sedin Sisters” – I am just repeating his reference).

Its for April/May. To look at this in a different context it is like doing a early trade deadline deal for the playoffs without trading anything away.

With the “new NHL” I dont see anymore dynasty building. IOW, building for the long term is very challenging. You need to build for the season at hand and depending how that season/playoff run (or lack thereof) goes is how you prepare for the next season.

Regardless of whether Sundin is in vancouver or not, you are going to have to deal with the Sedin sisters (as I believe they were once referred to by you, Ian). My point being is that there are going to be some major changes regardless. And I think – like Naslund – unless the Sedins perform this season and in the playoffs (assumption) like we hope, they can pack their bags for New York and collect their cheque from Sather.

Next year is a another chapter in Canucks hockey.
